About Kemiren, Banyuwangi

The Osing are descendants of the Blambangan kingdom at the eastern tip of Java, mainly in Banyuwangi Regency, with their own Osing language. Kemiren village in Glagah district is a cultural tourism village where Osing houses and traditions are still lived. Kemiren keeps the Osing barong and the gandrung, Banyuwangi's signature dance, once performed in thanksgiving after the harvest. Each year the village holds Ider Bumi on the 2nd of Syawal, Tumpeng Sewu early in Dhul Hijjah and the Ngopi Sepuluh Ewu coffee festival every October.

Getting there
