About this journey

Watch Sasak women weave on traditional looms and discover bale tani houses and rice barns.

In Sade, weaving is still part of daily life for Sasak women. You will watch spinning and weaving on traditional looms, learn about Sasak cloth motifs and try weaving a few rows yourself. A guide from the hamlet will show you around the bale tani houses and rice barns, and explain why the floors are coated with buffalo dung mixed with earth.

    A day in Sade

    09:00 airport pickup, 09:30 arrive in Sade, walk through the hamlet, weaving session, 13:00 lunch, 14:30 finish.
